A Message From Our Principal

Dear Parents and Students,

I personally want to welcome all new and returning students to the 2015-2016 school year at River Valley. We have a rich tradition in setting high expectations for our students academically. This year will be no exception. The administration and staff are all expecting excellence out of all students. As a parent and student, you should be expecting excellence from the administration and staff as well.

Our sports programs are among the best in the state. Our football team will be defending their state championship this season. One of the best parts of high school is all the activities in which you can participate. This ranges from school plays to sports, community service clubs, and class clubs. Get involved in school whether you are a senior or a freshman, and you will truly enjoy high school even more.

There are many changes this year for the school and school district. The first major change is in the school week. We are now on a flex-Friday schedule. This means that the students have regular school Monday through Thursday, and on two Fridays a month school will be open for enrichment and intervention. The next change is that school starts every day at 7:40 a.m. The school calendar is available on the school web site, so you will always know on which day school is in session. If at any time you have a question, please be sure to contact the school by e-mail or by phone. Our phone number has changed, please call (928) 768-2300.

I look forward to another great year at River Valley. As always, have a great Dust Devil year, and keep “SOARing to Excellence.”

Sincerely,

Dorn Wilcox
